Dana's Story

I watched my family struggle with my PawPaw, Milledge, whenever he needed to be moved from his home of 46 years into an Assisted Living Facility, and then just one week later (after a surprise UTI) into a skilled nursing facility. My adult parents & their siblings were working full time jobs, had families of their own, and were spread out across the country.  They were absolutely clueless about how to start the process, what it would entail over the next 3 years, and how emotionally taxing and draining it would be to make these difficult decisions.

As I watched my Aunts and Uncles agonize over conducting a simple conference call (Pre- Zoom days) and get anything decided, I kept thinking, there has to be a better way to help families navigate these important decisions.  I knew I had the skillset, and with a little know how and determination, I launched Family Affairs Consulting to help families make informed decisions regarding the personal affairs of themselves and their loved ones.  My Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification gives me the real world know-how to manage multi-faceted projects of every size, and my first hand experience and relationships provide professional references to assist in every aspect of long-term life planning.
